Modern Male Barber Academy is founded with a mission to bring back the lost art of barbering. We offer various programs and courses that teach young men and women old-school but refined barbershop skills.

We’re not only talking about classic techniques using clippers and straight razors or giving hot lather shaves. We also want our students to learn the gentleman-barber etiquette. We want them to create an atmosphere where today’s men and their sons can experience the camaraderie that was present in our fathers and grandfathers’ go-to barbershops.

Join Our Mission to Revive the Lost Art of Barbering
With a strong desire to promote “the barber as gentleman experience, ” we’re always on the lookout for talents to boost our growing team. We currently have four talented, experienced barber instructors led by our main man, Nicky Prosseda a.k.a. Nicky the Barba.

Nicky, the owner of Modern Male Barbershop, started the shop’s apprentice program years ago to hone aspiring barbers. In 2017, Nicky’s brother, Vinni, took over the apprentice program, which produced several brilliant graduates. Some of our graduates are currently employed in various branches of Modern Male Barbershop in Pennsylvania. Others now run their own barbershops.

In 2018, the two brothers formalized the program and established the Modern Male Barber Academy. With various courses and programs, we’re on our way to groom more young gentleman barbers.

If you’re an enthusiastic, licensed barber instructor, we’d love to have you on board. And if you graduated from our apprentice program and got a PA barber instructor license, we’d be happy to have you back — this time, as a fellow instructor.
